Background
In the early 1970’s,
Michael O’Neill joined his family’s construction company, learning the trade as a laborer and carpenter. Through the years of his beginning career, Mike gained proficiency in carpentry and concrete work. Working for his family offered Mike the ability to learn all aspects of the business and acquire advanced skills from building plans to final details. Having this inherent understanding of the construction industry, Mike offers his clients a thorough perspective on each job and an ability to collaborate with a variety of trades and services.
After obtaining his California State Contractor’s License in 1981 he set out to establish his own company, Mike O’Neill Construction. For over 38 years, Mike O’Neill Construction has specialized in custom residential construction, remodels, additions, and luxury homes. Dedicating his business to this Southern California region, Mike has expertise with the unique construction needs of the area; such as hillside caisson, subterranean development, and individualized custom residential construction.
A respected colleague among architects, engineers, and designers, Mike approaches each job as a partnership between him and his clients; and brings an ingeniousness for problem solving their construction needs. It is no wonder that clients of Mike O’Neill Construction often refer him to their neighbors or become lifetime clients themselves. The O’Neill Construction team of in house craftsman and trusted subcontractors bring together expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, framing, masonry, and finishing. Working with such longstanding employees and partners, provides clients and architects confidence in well executed work as well as efficiency.
Lifelong residents of Pasadena, Mike and his wife Leanne have celebrated 41 years of marriage. Raising their two sons in this area and being part the community has brought them great enjoyment and pride. Mike and Leanne have served and lead their community through their involvement in South Pasadena Schools, SPHS Booster Club President, the South Pasadena Little League, Pasadena Hockey Association, Boy Scouts, and numerous other community organizations.

Our proficiency in craftsman and historic restoration allow for replication of intricate details, making our own mouldings and trim and duplicating elaborate architectural features.
